Two weeks

Welp, I've officially been here for two weeks!

There have been both good and bad days but all in all it's not too bad here! my Coworkers are great, and I really like my job. Its rough not Knowing the residents like I did in Sparks . There, I Could tell you their name, what apartment they were in, and what they eat and drink for breakfast, lunch, and dinner . I'll get to know them here in time , but I definitely do miss my sparks oldies!

I had to get a new phone , which I thought was the most devastating thing ever. I thought I LOVED my iPhone , until I got this giant !
It's the Galaxy Note 3!  It seriously does everything I could ever need it to do.

My cousin lives pretty close to here which is nice. He picked me up today and took me to lunch. We had some delicious Mexican food and I got to ride in his brand new car. Such a great time. I can't wait for summer so we can go boating and fishing. I truly am blessed.

New Friends(:

I've made a new friend! She is a caregiver here at Bonaventure of Salem. We hit it off pretty much immediately! It's been so nice to have someone come visit me! I gave her my care giving uniform shirts, since I don't need them anymore. We've got plans to hang out, AND we are going to the same school so we are going to coordinate our classes together. THANK YOU GOD! I'm not alone!

She was so sweet to bring me a full course meal to my desk tonight! I've eaten a whole lot of microwaveable junk since I've been here. TV dinners, Pot pies, Hot pockets, etc. I got a soup and salad tonight, pizza AND dessert. She's such a sweetheart <3

All is well here in Salem! LOTS of working. I'm enjoying it though. The residents and staff here are all really cool! I really really miss home, but I don't regret my decision to move up here.

I start Derby tomorrow night! I'll let you all know how it goes! I can't wait!

I wanna go homeeee....

I miss home, so so bad tonight. My family, my dogs, my team, all of it. The fact that I'm not home anymore pretty much smacked me in the face today.

This will get easier as time goes by and I start to adjust hopefully.

Parm Chips!

My favorite Bonaventure Regional chef is in town for a cooking convention here in Salem this weekend! I just spent 3 hours making parm chips with her. Repetitive baking of little mounds of Parmesan cheese and I enjoyed every second of it!
It's so nice to spend some time with someone I know, and someone that gets me, a little familiar face from home that I love oh so very much!

Thank you, Kris...THANK YOU.

Helllloooooooo!

Hi Everyone!

I've gotten a lot of text messages asking how Oregon is going, what's new, how I like it, what the weather is like, etc. Sooooo....
Welcome to the "Life in Oregon" blog!

I'm not as miserable as I expected to be. I definitely miss home, I miss my family, and I miss my doggies! Hopey is old and I'm so worried something is going to happen to her while I'm gone. She's my baby! And my pickle...I miss her loves! And Dozer....I never thought I would miss being greeted by being bit in the ass.

The drive wasn't bad at all...It was actually really pretty!

I woke up with a cold the very first morning I was here. The climate change and the stress of traveling are to blame for that, but I'm happy to announce that I'm feeling much better now!
Eating Chicken Noodle soup sucks when my mom isn't here to make me a grilled cheese sandwich to go with it...the only "Grilled Cheese Sammich" I will eat!

I'm on day 4 of work and I absolutely LOVE IT. I sit at the front desk so I am the first person people see when they walk in the door. Meaning I always have to have a smile on my face...whether people are coming at me with appraisals or complaints :) The residents here are very nice and the community is gorgeous! I will post pictures soon!
There is a really pretty pond in the front with Coy fish...It's a nice escape place!
The weather...ohhhh the weather. It seriously rains ALL.THE.TIME. There's been like 20 minutes out of the day that the sun has come out (it's really beautiful then!). But for real...sooo much rain!

The Roller Derby Team here is called the Cherry City Roller Girls. Their recruitment night is this coming Wednesday and I can't 'wait to get my skates back on and hit some girls. I'm hoping I will get to bout with them on the 12th! We will see :) Stay tuned for updates.

I'm all set to start school here next semester at Chemeketa College. I'm kind of transitioning my degree a little bit and leaning more toward some EMT stuff. I've taken up a really big interest in that field lately! We will see how it goes!

I think that's it for now! I'll be posting here often!
